ARTWORK GUIDELINES

Preferred Layout Applications: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Quark XPress
TIP: Use Illustrator or Quark to layout your file. Import your supporting graphics into your layout document and save this as your “Final Layout”.

Computer Platform
Apple MacIntosh Format heavily preferred. If using a PC, create a “.ai” file, an “.eps” file, or build in Photoshop with bleed as a “.tif”.

Preferred Image Editing Application
Adobe Photoshop - used for image editing the imported images and graphics.

Resolution Requirements
Mimaki or Roland: Imported images should be saved and imported at 150 dpi built to full size.
Vutek: Requires 72 dpi @ full size.

File Types
Imported images should be saved to a CMYK TIFF format.
Line art built in Illustrator should first be saved as an EPS, then imported into a layout document - unless the layout program is Illustrator.

Bleed
Files need to have a minimum of 1/4th inch bleed in order to avoid any finishing problems.

Fonts
Outline All Fonts……this will ensure that there won’t be any font conflicts with you file. If it is not possible to outline all fonts, printer and screen fonts must be supplied with the file.

Turn-around-time
Most of our jobs have a 3-Day turn-around-time. All of our turn-around-times whether it be 1, 2, 3, 5 or more days are all based on our art department receiving your files on the day specified by your sales representative and the file meeting all of our printing requirements.

Please note: Should the file come in late or not meet our specifications, this could delay your deadline.

Proofing
Please provide a color match print and/or PMS call-outs. This is to ensure that what we receive on your file is what will be printed. Sometimes during the process of sending your file to the printer things may get distorted or dropped. Providing a color match print is for your protection that what you ordered is what you will receive. If this is not possible, the next best thing is to email a PDF or JPEG of the final layout/design, especially if artwork was emailed.

Note: We will not be responsible for misprints without a match print for proofing.
